TNT Quad AACTFests

It's the Best Little Theatre Competition in Texas - Texas AACTFest!
For the 2017 cycle, eleven companies will vie for the opportunity to represent Texas at the Region VI AACTFest in Lafayette, Louisiana in April, with the ultimate goal of advancing to the National AACTFest in Rochester, Minnesota in June. The Quad Festivals kick off the process in January and February - so come on out and enjoy the delightful variety of performances as the companies polish their entries. Basic Information

Festival Handbook
  • Any amateur theater organized for at least one year prior to the state festival which has produced at least two shows prior to the state festival entry is eligible to enter the festival process.
  • A theatre may present a one-act play or musical, or cutting of a full length play or musical by any author, limited to no more than 60 minutes. The company is responsible for obtaining all rights to perform, cut, or for the use of any copyrighted material.
  • Scenery, props. et al must fit in approx. 100 sq. ft. offstage storage. (10' X 10' at Nationals)
  • You have a maximum of 10 minutes to set up and 10 minutes to strike.

Costs

  • BILL & ENID HOLM FESTIVAL AWARDS: Each theatre advancing to the state festival will receive a $250 voucher. Each theatre advancing to the regional festival will receive $1,000. A Texas theatre advancing to the national festival will receive $3,000*.
  • AACT provides advancement awards to theatre(s) advancing to Nationals - amount to be determined.
  • Theatre must be a current organizational member of TNT– minimum level $75. 
  • AACT Fee:  $79 to AACT if theatre is not an AACT member. (If a theatre advances to Regional, AACT membership is required. The $79 will be applied to the full membership at the appropriate level).
  • Theatre Entry Fee:  $50 to TNT for Quad.
  • Quad Registration Fees:  $20 per cast & crew member (required)
  • Theatre Entry Fee:  $50 to TNT for theatres advancing to State. May use award voucher from advancement award.
  • State Registration: $130 per cast & crew member (required) - includes all workshops and food events at State.  

Texas AACTFest 2017

Eleven theatres from across the state of Texas have entered Texas AACTFest 2017! Come see them at the Quad Festivals in January and February as they prepare for the Texas State competition in March! One slight change - the Quad I Festival will be held at the Louise H. Underwood Center for the Arts in downtown Lubbock instead of at the Lubbock-Cooper Performing Arts Center. From comedies to tragedies, this festival has it all. Don't miss it!
