AACTFest is a festival of one-act plays, musicals, or cuttings of full length properties, produced by community or amateur theatre groups, for the purpose of learning about, sharing, and celebrating theatre on local, regional and national levels. It is a biennial project of the American Association of Community Theatre, and TNT produces the Texas State levels in conjunction with the national organization. Participation in AACTFest provides a wealth of fun and fellowship - not to mention bragging rights!
The AACTFest is a biennial project, taking place on odd numbered years. TNT starts the Texas process with Quad festivals in January / February, from which selected shows move on to the State festival in March.
The TNT Annual Conference takes place in March every year, featuring workshops and social events designed to provide development opportunities and peer networking. On odd numbered years, the conference is produced in conjunction with the Texas AACTFest, providing entertainment through festival shows as they showcase their talents and vie for the chance to move on to the regional level. On even numbered years, programming varies to address current issues and concerns in the theatre community.
The 2018 TNT Annual Conference took place in Deer Park from March 16 - 18.
